A DECADE is an awful long time to hold a grudge but Jim Jefferies is clearly a man who finds forgiving a difficult thing to do.
It didn't matter that in his first Edinburgh derby for 10 years the opposition manager was a guy he considers one of his best friends in the world.
Not when revenge is uppermost in his mind.
I don't think 5-0 would have flattered us. -Jim Jefferies

HEARTS hero Andrew Driver insisted Jim Jefferies' powers of persuasion won the Edinburgh derby.
The winger wasn't sure he was up to it but, after a pep talk from the manager, was thrown into only his second game in four months.
Driver, who started along with fellow crocks Ian Black and Ruben Palazuelos, said: "The gaffer didn't tell the three of us we were playing until 45 minutes before kick-off. We didn't expect to play but it shows the manager was right in the team he selected.

"I started speaking to the club a couple of months ago and we're just in the process of trying to negotiate something," Stewart told Hearts TV.
"That's the situation as it is at the moment: we're in the middle of talking and we'll see how it pans out."

Determined to avoid a recurrence of last weekend's insipid opening in the 3-1 defeat at Fir Park, Jefferies will entrust Locke with the task of geeing up the squad from the moment they arrive at Tynecastle.
"Billy Brown and I will have our say but Lockie will take it upon himself to get round everybody. We have boys who have played in enough derbies and know what it means, but Lockie will just be that little bit of assurance. He will leave the players in no doubt just how big a game it is.
